I kinda want to ask her out, but...?

ok, so we go to the same school and we started talking 1 year ago. ever since then, we do pretty much everything together. we tell each other we i love you a lot and sometimes hug. my friends think that we are going out, but we are just friends now. i do kinda want to ask her out, but im really afraid that she will stop talking to me, cuz last time, my friend stole my cell phone and asked her out for me over txt, but she said no and it was really quiet between us for a while, but it recovered. im just really afraid that this time it would be forever, and i dont want that to happen, cuz i love her :) to make it better, i can sense this impending doom between us. i think what will happen in the end is that her bf (not me) will get mad at me for spending so much time with her and she will side with her bf. am i just crazy? what should i do?
