Here's a good one. My 6 year old son was locked out of his school today. How should I handle it?
Call the principal immediately and if no one answers then leave a message saying you'll be there to discuss this first thing tomorrow morning. I would be so upset about him being locked out. Who knows what could have happened to him! That is just outright negligent and they need to offer an explanation and a resolution. Don't drop it until they ensure you that he is safe there. Ask them what they can do to guarantee that this will never happen again. If you don't like their response, send a letter of complaint to the superintendent. As far as the lunch lady telling him how much to eat- if there is a certain amount of lettuce he is supposed to take then there should be a teacher at the salad bar monitoring the kids who are getting their lunch to ensure that no one takes too much. If they don't want to pay a teacher to do that then they're going to have to deal with some wasted lettuce. Look up an article about healthy eating habits and the negative affects of kids being forced to eat when they aren't hungry and print it off. Take it with you so you have factual information to back up your opposition about him basically being force-fed his lunch. Good luck!
