I heard that the Gershwin estate considers it too racially demeaning and is withholding it from distribution but it seems to me that it is nowhere near as degrading as today's drug and violence glorification films that are put out as entertainment. Do you know of any other reason why P and Bess is banned and unattainable on DVD?
